@type__error Jsfiddle might be adding some polyfills that fixes the safari issue behind the scenes?

@wltrd @csswizardry @css @meyerweb @SaraSoueidan Yeah, got the same result with the jsfiddle from the other thread. Problem was the CSS validator marking it as an (false) error and the still unknown information since when this works. The issue that was leading me to the question ***umes old Safaris can not handle it.

@techno156 @AmyWrightDev upon double-checking with jsfiddle, this is wrong --- the issue is actually that it's not wrapped in a form, <button type=submit> slipped my mind and mdn confirms that it's inferred for the sole button in a form in modern browsers
