@kxnni It is, but I think Android is going this emotional manipulation route because they have tried to implement similar chokehold and failed (see Hangouts, Google chat, Google duo, now Android messages) We have way too many players in the IM space for this to even be an issue.

@_LifeWithMell @sondesix You can FaceTime Android by the way. The only problem is that you can't use any of FaceTime special features. If you use Google Duo you'll have better image quality and be able to use all the features on any platform.

Google Duo will become Google Meet as from today with features from both Google Duo and the original Google Meet. The original Google Meet will be phased out in the next few months Google Hangouts will be shut down in November. Google Chat is the preferred one now 🤷🏿‍♂️🤔⁉️

@stufflistings Pixel 6a will have the same image sensors as 4a? My pixel 4a Was a good phone but sadly video calling was so so bad on all apps(2/10). Only Google Duo worked all right in terms of video quality (5/10) but phone got heated and battery drain was still an issue.

@madebygoogle I can't remember all the troubleshooting I've done so far. Its been over a year since I bought it and tried to fix it for my mother. I actually bought it so that I could do video calls with my family on Google Duo, which I later found out was not available with this model.
