So turning off power to Hue bridge for 20 seconds and back on fixed my #HomeKit issue. Now to fix Ecobee...turning power off on that isn’t as easy, might switch circuit breaker?

It pains me when you can’t access YOUR OWN #SmartDevice in YOUR OWN home because it needs to connect to the company’s server (which seems to be down often) in order for you to simply change the temperature in YOUR OWN house. Looking at you @ecobee. Where is the notification?

@ecobee is there an update being pushed? Our thermostat has restarted itself at least a handful of times that I’ve witnessed in the past week or so. This happens while the heat is running. Never had this issue in the past two winters.

@ecobee once authorized the phone app has an infinite session time. The web app seems to have a session time of less than 10 minutes. Please fix the web app, its just a thermostat, a session time of days shouldn't be a problem.

@Homekitgeek @rachelcericola @davezatz Prefer the 180 view of the Circle View over the ecobee. The View seems to fix some of the distortion whereas the ecobee stretches the corners. The ecobee does have a clearer picture though.

@marcoarment I have 3 pre-google Nests, no problem. Added an ecobee (wanting HomeKit) and took days to get it onto HomeKit but now works. Their support team was persistent in getting me running. I’ve had much trouble with HomeKit devices and my dual band netgear router…

@derivativeburke @wirecutter That is called an offset in a thermostat. Big issue for @ecobee & @googlenest thermostats is poor offset controls causing short cycling.

@ChandraFarley Ecobee can work without internet access. It becomes just a regular programmable thermostat so your point is correct.
Smart thermostats help most on old inefficient HVAC. But the real problem is often HVAC, ductwork, air leakage, and insulation. The expensive stuff...

@yunniekim I also only use heat mode in the winter and cool in the summer. But the ecobee has a setting that if it is below 35 degree outside it won’t kick your equipment on. I’ll post a link for you shortly to fix that

@ecobee starting yesterday...ecobee can’t connect to Alexa...ecobee alone is fine and Alexa alone is fine. This has worked for 2 yrs...now my routines to control temp don’t work. Yes...I have tried all the typical troubleshooting...this is a software problem..fix it please!

@BradChacos Yeah, I try to have most of my stuff usable even without internet, like I could still change my ecobee, just had to walk over. But, HomePods were entirely useless during the outage. Thankfully, my LAN was live and I could still watch @plex on my Apple TV, so that was great.

@neil_comparetto I had a 29°F aux lockout for the first winter in my leaky home. After enclosing and air sealing the attic I was able to drop the aux lockout down to 18°F as well. The Ecobee really is a good fit for a leaky house with a standard heat pump.

@ecobee my thermostat keeps cutting in and out when it it is trying to heat up the house in the morning. Does anyone else have this problem. It runs for about 2 minutes and the it shuts down. The face goes blank.

The ecobee was set to 68. It said it was 67 in the house. I’m about to go to bed so I just knock it down to 67. The heat decides to kick on. What sense does that make

@ecobee Problem solved. I talked with your tech support & determined it was furnace-related. Called HVAC repair & it was the pressure switch on the furnace. Fixed & working!! Thanks for the response.
